We are natural stone care experts
Natural stone attracts quite a big of attention. If it is well-maintained, people admire its elegance. However, if it is neglected, dull, dirty, or damaged, it attracts the wrong kind of attention. We can help ensure your marble, limestone, and travertine floors, benchtops, shower walls, and other surfaces create a positive impression for family, guests, and patrons. Like any surface, marble, limestone, and travertine can become scratched, chipped, etched, or dulled in appearance with time and use, or perhaps for the unfortunate few, with improper installation. Don’t assume you have to live with the stone as it is or go to the expense of replacing it. Nothing could be further from the truth! At Set In Stone Restoration, we know how to clean, polish, repair and restore your marble, limestone, and travertine.
Is your marble, limestone, or travertine floor too dull or too shiny? If you have a new floor with some tiles that look more glossy than others – let us even out the finish for you. Whether you have or are seeking to acquire a gloss, semi-gloss or matte finish, we can deliver a beautifully restored or changed marble, limestone, or travertine finish.
Does your marble, limestone, or travertine floor have dull areas associated with wear patterns, scratches, etches or spots? We can hone your natural stone surfaces to eliminate these imperfections, resulting in a new surface free of damage. With our honing services, our expert technicians can achieve a honed or soft matte finish that is warm, inviting, and velvety smooth.
An uneven finish, dull spots or etches can diminish the elegant appearance of your natural stone floors and surfaces. We can polish your marble using the appropriate diamonds or polishing powders to restore the finish you want, whether matte, semi-gloss or gloss finish. With our marble polishing services, our expert technicians can achieve the exact finish you are looking for.
Lippage Removal / Grinding
Are your natural stone tiles uneven? Do you want your natural stone floor tiles flattened to the grout lines to facilitate easier cleaning? Our technicians can grind away the excess stone (a process called lippage removal) to create a flat, level surface using state-of-the art diamond grinding technology. Once ground to the level and shape desired, the marble, limestone, or travertine is honed and polished to the finish you want.
Do you have chipped natural stone tiles? Are there cracks in your floor? What about broken tiles? Before you replace your marble, limestone, or travertine, consider having us provide expert repair services. Set In Stone Restoration can fill holes in travertine, fix marble or limestone cracks and chips, blending the repair site with the surrounding area, and honing and polishing it to match the finish on the rest of your natural stone floor, benchtop or other stone surface.
Although it is rare for a marble, limestone, or travertine tile to be beyond repair, sometimes tile replacement is necessary. Our craftsman can, in many cases, remove your affected tile without damaging neighboring tiles, reinstall the new tile, level the installed tile with the surrounding area, and then match the finish as closely as possible.
We can remove natural stone stains and discolorations. Whether you are seeking guidance on how to do this yourself or want us to treat your marble, limestone, or travertine, the original finish of your stone can be restored.
Cleaning & Sealing
Natural stone cleaning processes vary based on the surface condition and type of dirt or oil being removed. Marble, limestone, and travertine are easier to keep clean with periodic professional deep cleaning services, using non-acidic, highly-effective cleaning solutions. Once your natural stone floors, showers, tub surrounds, walls, and other marble surfaces are cleaned and restored, we highly recommend you have us seal them to enhance their stain resistance. All stones are naturally porous. If left unsealed, there’s always a risk of spilling a colored or reactive liquid, which can change the appearance of your stone. While most stains can be removed, marble, limestone, and travertine stain removal can be a time consuming, expensive and often frustrating process. Sealing is an inexpensive, preventative measure against marble, limestone, and travertine stain damage.
